About the author










Wolfgang Struve was born in Hamburg in 1917. He studied philosophy, physics, and mathematics in Freiburg, Germany, and in Zürich, Switzerland, and wrote his doctoral dissertation under Martin Heidegger in 1943. He taught in Freiburg from 1948 until his retirement in 1981. He passed away in December 2011.

George Wald was born in Los Angeles. He studied anthropology and philosophy in Los Angeles and philosophy, English, and ancient Greek in Freiburg, Germany. He wrote his doctoral dissertation under Wolfgang Struve in 1987. He currently teaches English at a middle school in Los Angeles.
