Ceci n'est pas la Belgique, et pourtant...
Bruxellois, Wallons et Flamands vivent
tantôt ensemble, tantôt côte à côte.
Alors, qu'est-ce que cela signifie,
la Belgique ? Après avoir rencontré des
francophones et des néerlandophones
des quatre coins du pays, Sanny Winters,
graphiste et illustratrice, a synthétisé
des événements, des faits et des héros
(certains évidents et d'autres qui le sont
moins) dans autant de dessins raffinés,
basés sur la typographie. Un ensemble
unique, compilé dans un livre tricolore
qui devrait se retrouver dans
la bibliothèque de chaque Belge.

Walloons, Flemings and the inhabitants of Brussels
often live together quite happily, if at times a little awkwardly.
But what does 'Belgium' mean to people?
Illustrator and graphic artist Sanny Winters interviewed
French- and Dutch-speakers from all corners of the country.
Using the letters of the alphabet, she transformed
the obvious and not-so-obvious heroes, events and facts
into crystal-clear illustrations. Bound in the colours
of the national flag, this unique collection deserves a place
on every Belgian's bookshelf.

het alfabet puurde ze evidente
en minder evidente helden,
gebeurtenissen en feiten uit
tot glasheldere tekeningen.
Een unieke verzameling, gebundeld
in een tricolore boek dat bij elke Belg
in de kast moet staan.
