Promotion 1991, danach wissenschaftliche Referentin am Max-Planck-Institut für Geschichte, Göttingen. Habilitation 2001 an der Humboldt-Universität Berlin. Seit 2001 Professorin für Kunstgeschichte an der Heinrich-Heine-Universität.
