About the author










Mai-Lan Ho, MD, is a Fellow in Neuroradiology at the University of California, San Francisco. She completed her residency in diagnostic radiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School; as well as chemical engineering training at Stanford University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Ho is the recipient of several prestigious radiology awards including the William W. Olmsted Editorial Fellowship for Trainees, Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award, and Bracco Diagnostics Research Resident Grant from the Radiological Society of North America; Lucy Frank Squire Award from the American Association for Women Radiologists; and Stephen A. Kieffer Award from the Eastern Neuroradiological Society.
Ronald L. Eisenberg, MD, JD, is a Professor of Radiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital and the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Eisenberg is an internationally renowned radiologist who has authored 21 books in radiology, including the 1984 Atlas of Signs in Radiology and the 1994 Skull and Spine Imaging: An Atlas of Differential Diagnosis. He is also Section Editor of the "Pattern of the Month" series for the American Journal of Roentgenology.
