About the author

Indian and Tamil and born in Rangoon, Lindy Cartner grew up in British India and moved to the UK in the 1960s. She was a Consultant Haematologist prior to her retirement in 1997 and was also Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
