Informationen zum Autor Douglas Woodwell is an associate professor of international relations in the Department of History and Political Science at the University of Indianapolis.  He received his BA in International Studies at American University, his MA in German and European Studies at Georgetown University, and his PhD in Political Science at Yale University.  His earlier works include articles written for international relations journals and the World Bank as well as the book Nationalism in International Relations .  Klappentext The author presents a model that ties together research processes across the various traditions and shows how different types of research interrelate. The book stresses the link between research and theory-building! and shows students how theory guides social research. It is sophisticated in its presentation! but provides explanation of higher-level concepts in an accessible and engaging manner. The book is an excellent guide for students who will be consumers of research! and who need to understand how theory and research interrelate. This will be a great text for beginning master's students in research methods . I love the way the author integrates quantitative and qualitative traditions and concepts, and I appreciate tremendously the author's holistic approach.
