About the author

Prof. Dr. Klaus von Beyme, geb. 1934 in Saarau/Schlesien. Studium der Politikwissenschaft, Geschichte und Soziologie an den Universitäten Heidelberg, München, Paris und Moskau; 1967-73 Professor für Politikwissenschaft an der Universität Tübingen, seit 1973 Professor am Institut für Politikwissenschaft der Universität Heidelberg mit den Forschungsschwerpunkten Vergleichende Systemforschung und politische Theorie.
