Thomas Laird lives with his wife near Germantown Hills, Illinois.

Thomas Laird was born in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1947. He grew up in Chicago, Illinois, and was educated in the public schools. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in English in 1971.
