In this beautifully illustrated guide, author and pro photographer Jerod Foster helps students understand how color works, attracting attention, directing the eye, and working with other elements for a compelling photograph.
This guide approaches color from a practical, photographer's perspective with a mix of theory, technical information, and practical advise on how to apply these ideas in all genres of photography—landscapes, portraits, sports or wildlife.

The student will learn about:

  • Manipulating color with white balance, artificial lighting, and exposure
  • Creating visual depth with complementary colors, dominant and recessive color, and contrast
  • Meaning of color and how red, blue, green or purple can push emotions in the viewer
