About the author
Anne-Marie Willis is Lecturer in Design Ethics and Design History at the University of Tasmania, Australia, and Visiting Professor at the University of Adelaide, Australia. Previously, she was Professor and Head of Design Theory at the German University in Cairo, Egypt, and Editor of Design Philosophy Papers. She is a design writer, editor and educator, and her published books include The Design Philosophy Reader (Bloomsbury, 2019) and Steel (Bloomsbury, 2015). She has contributed papers to leading international journals, articles to The Bloomsbury Encyclopedia of Design and is also a member of the editorial advisory board for the Bloomsbury Design Library.

It raises meaningful contradictions that allow postgraduate students to reflect more deeply on their roles as researchers in design.
