Named for its most famous resident, noted American industrialist and railroad builder John Insley Blair, it was incorporated in 1845. Known for the college preparatory academy that bears Blair's name, the heritage and history of this community has long been appreciated by its residents. About the author

Kenneth Bertholf Jr., a trustee of the Catherine Dickson Hofman Library, is among the fourth generation of his family to live in Blairstown. Don Dorflinger is a historian and preservationist specializing in railroads.
