Der Sammelband stellt Graffiti als Sprache an den Wanden in das Zentrum einer interdisziplinaren wissenschaftlichen Auseinandersetzung. Die Beitrage fokussieren dabei nicht nur die konkrete Seite des Phanomens Graffiti, sondern entfalten einen theoretischen Rahmen zur weiterführenden Betrachtung. Grundannahme ist es dabei, dass Graffiti in ihrer Gesamtheit die sozialen und politischen Verhaltnisse, Befindlichkeiten und Einstellungen in Abhangigkeit von Zeit und Ort ihrer Kreation widerspiegeln.
