The passing of Professor Graham Stanton, former Lady Margaret chair of divinity at Cambridge University, in 2009 marked the passing of an era in Matthean scholarship and studies of early Christianity. About the author

Daniel M. Gurtner (PhD, University of St Andrews) is Professor of New Testament at Gateway Seminary, USA. He has published a number of works on the Gospels and Second Temple Judaism, including the award-winning T&T Clark Encyclopedia of Second Temple Judaism (ed., with Loren T. Stuckenbruck, T&T Clark, 2019).

Joel Willitts is Associate Professor of Biblical and Theological Studies at North Park University, Chicago, USA
Richard A. Burridge is Professor of Biblical Interpretation and Dean at King's College, London.
