Informationen zum Autor PETER POUNCEY was born in Victoria, Canada, spent his childhood in China, then school, then Oxford, U.K.--always a follower of the "Great Architect." Sometime dean of Columbia College, for ten years he served as president of Amherst College. Now in his seventies, he teaches an honors course in Greek Literature at Columbia. In The New York Review of Books, W.S. Merwin wrote of Pouncey's novel, Rules for Old Men Waiting, "confronts its primal subject with a lucidity and plainness that appears to be descended from the historians and poets we have labeled classical." His book, Thucydides won the Lionel Trilling Prize. His memoir, Broken Times, is soon be published by Sheep Meadow.
