Parody and Taste in Postwar American Television Culture

Die Arbeit beleuchtet adoleszente Entwicklungsprozesse afrikanischer Bildungsmigranten in Deutschland und geht der Frage nach, wie Adoleszenz- und Migrationsprozesse zusammenwirken. Die Analyse von biographischen Interviews verdeutlicht, wie die adoleszenten Möglichkeitsräume adoleszenter BildungsmigrantInnen beschaffen sind und wie die Auseinandersetzung mit Veränderungen sowohl auf individueller wie sozial-gesellschaftlicher Ebene transformierte Lebensentwürfe hervorbringt.  Die adoleszenztheoretische Perspektive ermöglicht den Blick auf die Innenwelt der jugendlichen MigrantInnen jenseits der üblichen Kategorien wie "Kultur", "ethnische Identität" etc. und gibt Aufschlüsse darüber, ob und in welcher Weise die Jugendlichen mit ihren sozialen Praxen oder Identitäten an kulturell oder ethnisch definierte Bilder anknüpfen oder aus welchen anderen Bildern oder Vorstellungen sich ihre Lebensentwürfe generieren.
