About the author
This is the fifth book about the Chautauqua Lake region written by Kathleen Crocker and Jane Currie for Arcadia Publishing. A retired English teacher, Crocker has lent her talents to the Chautauqua Literary and Scientific Circle at the Chautauqua Institution, the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History, and the Robert H. Jackson Center. Currie, a professional photographer and photojournalist, takes great pride in Cadwell's Cheese House, her family's business in its 85th year of operation. For more than a decade, the partners have proudly researched their own roots in Chautauqua County and, via their writings and public speaking engagements, have crusaded for others to do the same.
