A history of the famous Texas Brigade, better known as "Hood's Texas Brigade," which fought for the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. The work is chronological, following this distinguished brigade from the beginning of the War in 1861 through General Lee's surrender at Appomattox in April 1865. The author narrates the battles in which they participated, including Seven Pines, Gaines Mill, Savage Station, Second Manassas, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg, Chickamauga, Chattanooga and Knoxville, The Wilderness, and Cold Harbor. Unit rosters have been included, as well as biographies of several of the commanders. In many instances, the author provided information on those wounded or killed.
