About the author

Clive J. Petry was born in London, England. He completed BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Surrey, and the University of Cambridge, U.K. He currently works as a senior research associate in the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Cambridge. He has authored over 50 scientific publications and currently serves on the editorial board of a number of journals including the British Journal of Nutrition and Human Reproduction. His research involves investigating the mechanisms underpinning the link between foetal growth and the risks of developing gestational and type 2 diabetes and hypertension.
