Musser Professor of French at Yale University. Kaplan is the author of several books, including French Lessons: A Memoir and Dreaming in French: The Paris Years of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, Susan Sontag, and Angela Davis , both published by the University of Chicago Press.
