About the author

Cristina de la Torre was born in Cuba and moved to the United States as a child. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Miami, Florida, and her Ph.D. in Spanish from Emory University. She spent several years in Madrid, Spain, where she was inspired to begin her dual career as professor of Spanish and literary translator.
