Western State University in Roadims, Arkansas, offers Olivia Clarke an assistant professor position in the school of business. Five years later with the granting of tenure and promotion, the faculty elects her as Senate President. At nearly the same instant, the Board unexpectedly ousts university President Fonticello. Without President Fonticello, the guns of university and Republican state politics are drawn, loaded, and aimed at Olivia.
