WILLIAM BARCLAY, Professor of Divinity and Biblical Criticism at Glasgow University, is a distinguished scholar of international repute, a gifted preacher, broadcaster and journalist. His Daily Study Bible has already sold over a million copies and the breadth of sympathy he displays in such writing as The Plain Man's Book of Prayers has earned him the respect of thousands of ordinary people. The King and The Kingdom, a study of the Old Testament, combines expert knowledge with simplicity of style.
God's Young Church, a study of the early Church, is alive with illustrations in Professor Barclay's well-loved style.
Three sections describe the Christian community in its earlydays; aspects of the Christian life; and outstanding men who travelled and taught in the hostile world of the Roman empire.
At the heart of early Christianity were values and beliefs which will never age. These pages are filled with guidance for daily living.
