Seit 1990 Oberingenieur und Leiter Arbeitsgruppe Zellkulturtechnik und Tissue Engineering, TU Hamburg-Harburg, Institut für Bioprozess- und Biosystemtechnik. 2002-2007 Lehrbeauftragter HAW Hamburg. Seit 2008 Lehrbeauftragter an der FH Gießen-Friedberg. 1997 Habilitation und Ernennung zum Privatdozenten. Mitkoordinator des Forschungsschwerpunktes Regeneration, Implantate und Medizintechnik der TU Hamburg-Harburg und Sprecher der Forschungsgruppe Tissue Engineering.
