Voilà plus de trente ans que l'architecte-paysagiste Alexandre Thomas a créé, autour
de la maison familiale, en Normandie, les jardins Agapanthe. Aimant produire des
effets immédiats ou à très court terme, il ne cesse d'y expérimenter ses idées nouvelles
et d'y tester de nouvelles plantes. Souvent qualifié de paysagiste «anticonformiste»,
Alexandre Thomas refuse les poncifs, mariant avec audace rigueur classique et fantaisie
exotique. Surprenants en toutes saisons, les jardins Agapanthe sont devenus un lieu
d'inspiration pour les centaines d'amateurs qui le visitent chaque année.

It is now more than thirty years since landscape architect and designer Alexandre Thomas
created, around his family home in Normandy, the gardens called 'Agapanthus'. Liking
to plant for immediate (or very rapid) effect, he never stops experimenting there and
is forever trying out new ideas and plants. Often considered to be a "nonconformist"
landscaper, Alexandre Thomas rejects cliché, boldly combining classical discipline and
exotic fantasy. Surprising in all seasons, the Agapanthus gardens have become a place of
inspiration for the hundreds of enthusiasts who visit them each year.
