Informationen zum Autor Abdulaziz Al-Sebail obtained his PhD from Indiana University in 1991. He taught Modern Arabic Literature at King Saud University and was editor-in-chief of Al-Rawi and Nawafidh magazines! the main focus of which is prose literature and translation. He has authored many critical studies on Arabic literature! participated in the translation of many books! and contributed to The Cambridge History of Arabic Literature. His most recent book is Arabism of Today: Cultural Perspectives. Anthony Calderbank studied Arabic and Persian at the University of Manchester and has taught both English and Arabic in the UK and the Middle East - at the American University in Cairo and at the University of Salford. Since 2008! he has lived in Riyadh! where he is now Deputy Director of the British Council in Saudi Arabia. His translations include novels by Naguib Mahfouz! Miral al-Tahawy! Yousef Al-Mohaimeed and Sonallah Ibrahim.
