In late 2007 the National Gallery of Art acquired one of the finest private European holdings of Old-Master drawings the Wolfgang Ratjen Collection. Peter Prange, geb. 1955, promovierte mit einer Arbeit zur Kultur- und Sittengeschichte der Aufklärung. Der Durchbruch gelang ihm mit dem Roman 'Das Bernsteinamulett' (als Zweiteiler verfilmt für die ARD). Bekannt wurde er vor allem durch seine historischen Bestseller. In 24 Sprachen übersetzt, haben sie eine internationale Gesamtauflage von zweieinhalb Millionen Exemplaren.
Andrew Robinson is a Visiting Fellow of Wolfson College, Cambridge and holds degrees from Oxford University and the School of Oriental Studies, London. He is now a full-time writer who has worked in book publishing, television and journalism, most recently as Literary Editor of "The Times Higher Education Supplement" from 1994-2006.
