Henri fronça les sourcils. Il se caressa la barbe
et se donna ainsi le temps de répondre.

de religion pour que j'attache encore une grande
importance à la façon de la pratiquer. Ce qui compte,
me semble-t-il, est ce que j'ai dans le coeur.»
Né d'une mère protestante et élevé par un
père converti au catholicisme, roi d'une Navarre
fidèle à la religion réformée et futur roi d'une
France catholique, le jeune Henri grandit dans
une atmosphère où, paradoxalement, il apprend
la tolérance. Devenu roi, ses deux «vengeances»
seront d'une nature surprenante...
