Goethe et Werther : lettres de Goethe aux Kestner

Pour se sortir de la situation délicate née de son amour pour Lotte Buff, la fiancée de son ami Jean Chrétien Kestner, Goethe a dû quitter brusquement la ville de Wetzlar en 1772. Sa correspondance éclaira par la suite la complexité de la situation dans laquelle il s'était trouvé. Cette expérience devait aussi fournir matière au roman Les souffrances du jeune Werther.
