Le malade imaginaire

Trop d'agitation : Argan n'arrive même plus
à s'écouter souffrir, un comble ! Pourtant,
il a toutes les maladies du monde. Vous ne le
croyez pas ? Regardez-le gémir et s'apitoyer
sur son corps. On revêtirait volontiers le costume
du docteur si cela pouvait le soulager de
ses maux : qu'importe la science, du moment
qu'il trouve à se rassurer ! Bien sûr, dans sa maison,
personne ne le prend véritablement au
sérieux : sa femme ne songe qu'à le berner,
sa servante à le railler et sa fille à aimer un
homme qui n'est même pas médecin... Pour
être malade imaginaire, on n'en a pas moins sa
dignité. Tous des ingrats !
L'accompagnement pédagogique met en perspective la
comédie-ballet, la farce et la comédie. L'étude détaillée
de trois grandes scènes (le monologue d'Argan, acte I,
scène 1 ; le débat sur l'amour dans la scène 6 de l'acte II ;
la stratégie de Toinette à la scène 10 de l'acte III) rend
compte de la subtilité du Malade imaginaire, de sa poétique
et de ses enjeux dramatiques.
