Informationen zum Autor Ken Laali received his PhD in organofluorine chemistry in 1977 from University of Manchester (Robert Haszeldine and Brian Booth); following postdoctoral stints in Europe (1977-1982) at King's College London (V. Gold), Strasbourg (J. Sommer), Amsterdam (H. Cerforntain), and ETH-Zurich (H. Zollinger), he moved to Univ. Southern California in 1982 to work with George Olah. In 1985 he accepted a faculty position at Kent State University, becoming full professor in1996. Klappentext This book is a mechanistic, experimental, and theoretical analysis of carbocation and onium ions that is a timely and significant contribution to the field. The contributors include some of the most esteemed researchers in onium ion chemistry, including a Nobel Prize recipient. The combination of well-known pioneers and younger flourishing scientists will expand the scope of this topic and provide an interesting, well rounded conversation. Zusammenfassung The volume is a collection of 22 chapters written by leading experts and active researchers in the field focusing on various aspects of carbocation and onium ion chemistry. These include stable ion NMR studies! solvolytic and kinetic studies! computational work! and synthetic/preparative aspects.
