Polar = roman distrayant ? Voire. Le 17 octobre 1961, une manifestation en faveur de l'Algérie se tient à Paris et se heurte à une sanglante répression. Le bilan est lourd. Dans une rue déserte, un homme tombe, assassiné. L'inspecteur Cadin est chargé de l'enquête. Le meurtre semble gratuit. Mais, au fil des pages, les découvertes font ressurgir des moments, bien refoulés, de l'histoire de France. Les atrocités de la guerre d'Algérie sont en résonance avec d'autres événements tragiques. Contre l'oubli et la bassesse, contre la lâcheté, Cadin ne manque pas de motivation. Car c'est un juste, lui.
