Informationen zum Autor Kwong Kuen Shan was born and brought up in Hong Kong where she studied both English and Classical Chinese. She later studied traditional Chinese painting, and developed her own style from that basis. The Philosopher Cat and her first book The Cat and The Tao are two of the results. She lived and worked in London for many years, and now lives near Abergavenny, a small market town in the Welsh borders. She paints landscapes, architecture and currently mainly cats. She teaches Chinese brush painting and exhibits her work locally. When not painting or writing she enjoys gardening and playing the piano, cooking and her husband's wine selection. Klappentext Kwong Kuen Shan was born and brought up in Hong Kong where she studied both English and Classical Chinese. She later studied traditional Chinese painting! and developed her own style from that basis. The Philosopher Cat and her first book The Cat and The Tao are two of the results. Zusammenfassung Kwong Kuen Shan has gathered together forty beautiful paintings of the animal many people hold dear to their hearts and accompanied these with Chinese proverbs and sayings. These cats are instantly recognisable: the playful and adventurous cat; the languid cat; the philosopher cat. With the same style and lightness of touch that made The Cat and the Tao such a delight, this is a beautiful book that cat-lovers will treasure.
