Informationen zum Autor Erik Matthysen is Research Associate at the Department of Biology of the University of Antwerp, Belgium. He has studied Eurasian Nuthatches in the field for over fifteen years, starting with an undergraduate thesis project in 1982. His main research interests are social organisation, dispersal strategies and population structure, mainly in birds and insects. He is married with two children and lives in Rumst near Antwerp. David Quinn developed an interest in drawing and painting at an early age. He became a freelance artist in 1982 and his illustrations have appeared, to much acclaim, in a wide variety of natural history publications. He was voted British Birds 'Bird Illustrator of the Year' in 1987.
