Deuil et mélancolie

Que se passe-t-il quand nous sommes confrontés
à la perte d'un être aimé ou à celle d'un idéal ?
Pourquoi certaines personnes réagissent-elles par
le deuil, alors que d'autres sombrent dans la
dépression, voire la mélancolie ? Comment
comprendre la douleur ? Quel est cet autre dont
la perte accable l'endeuillé et qui revient le
hanter comme un fantôme ? Par quel mécanisme
en arrive-t-on parfois à s'identifier au disparu et
à se haïr soi-même ?
Écrit en 1915, publié deux ans plus tard, cet
essai qui relie notamment le deuil aux notions de
narcissisme, d'identification et d'ambivalence,
est suivi ici du fameux article où Karl Abraham
discute des thèses freudiennes sur le deuil et la
mélancolie.
