Throughout the 26 regions of France,

of which 22 are on the mainland, is to be found an astonishing variety of landscape and architecture.
From the high mountains of the Alpes or Pyrenees, to the plains of Flanders, from the hedgerows of Normandy to the volcanoes of the Auvergne, the wild coast of Brittany, to the vineyards of Alsace, Burgundy, or Bordeaux the multitude of sites, either natural or fashioned by man grant, a continually renewed pleasure of discovery. Religious architecture (the epic of the Romanesque monastery, the daring Gothic experiments...) and civil architecture (fortified castles, the Renaissance, the great classic century...) gave birth to numerous monuments and witness to the genius of their creators.
Here each of France's regions is the subject of a chapter consisting of a presentation text, and a selection of photographs. Together, they constitute a complete regional identity card.
By way of introduction are detailed maps of France, and an illustrated calendar of events, along with valuable reference points. This visual panorama (more than 200 photographs) is intended for all those who wish to discover, or have others discover, France.
This publication is also available in Spanish and French for our foreign friends.
