sécurité ! Loin de souhaiter échapper
à leur condition, ils constituent à eux trois un petit
monde clos dont ils exagèrent l'enfermement. Yeux-Verts,
le seul assassin du groupe, est un pôle attractif
pour les deux autres : ils n'aspirent qu'à l'honneur de
l'imiter, sinon de le rejoindre dans le ciel héroïque du
crime et de la mort pour lequel la prison se révèle le
meilleur tremplin.
Prison et enfermement métaphysiques donc. Yeux-Verts,
le plus avancé sur la voie du détachement, fuit
dans une sorte de rêve de gloire ; les deux autres
s'entre-déchirent pour avoir les meilleures chances
d'accéder à une existence vraie en captant à leur profit
le reflet de celui qui appartient déjà à l'autre monde.
Ce désir luciférien de néantisation salvatrice ne peut
aboutir qu'à l'échec. Qui s'en étonnerait ?
