Michael Patterson was born and educated in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. After thirty-five years working in marketing and senior management, redundancy gave him the opportunity to set up Laminate-it! - a business selling lamination machines and consumables. It also gave him the time to concentrate on his writing.
Married with two children, he lives in Frimley Green, Surrey.
