Dirk Reinartz (1947 - 2004) studierte Fotografie an der Folkwangschule in Essen. 1971 1977 war er Fotoreporter beim "Stern". Reinartz lehrte Fotografie an der Muthesius-Hochschule in Kiel. Im Steidl Verlag erschienen zahlreiche seiner Bücher, u.a. Innere Angelegenheiten und New York 1974.
