Maja Dusíková, geb. 1946 in Piestany in der Slowakei, studierte Kunst in Bratislava und schloss 1973 ihr Studium als Grafikerin und Buchilllustratorin ab. Seit über einem Jahrzehnt nimmt Maja Dusiková erfolgreich an Ausstellungen in aller Welt teil und hat über 40 (Kinder-)Bücher illustriert. Seit 1982 lebt sie mit ihrer Familie in Florenz.
