About the author

Marc Chagall, geb. 1887 in Russland, ging 1910 nach Paris, um sich dem Kreis um Robert Delaunay anzuschließen. Nach Stationen in Holland, Italien und den USA ließ er sich 1948 in Frankreich nieder, wo er 1985 starb.
