Here, inspired by her mother—a disciplined road runner—Charlie began her mornings with runs along the area’s many balcony trails. She has a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and a master’s in English Literature, and she is currently working on a novel. In 2023, Charlie started writing content for two guiding companies: Run the Alps and Happy Tracks. She has completed a number of ultra-marathons, including the Transgrancanaria (80km), the Lago D'Orta (100km), and the Grand Trail du Courmayeur (75km). This year, she hopes to complete the Tôt Dret (130km) in the Aosta Valley in Italy.Run the Alps came into being one night in 2012 over pizza in the Swiss mountain village of Champéry. Initially conceived as a tour company, Run the Alps today endeavors to share and celebrate trail running in the Alps. Run the Alps offers guided and self-guided trail-running tours throughout the Alps and also creates and publishes a wide range of running content, including stories, films, and a comprehensive online race finder.
