El 25 de febrero de 2019, apoyado por su equipo de Univision, Jorge Ramos realizó una entrevista —preparada minuciosamente— a Nicolás Maduro. Después de un cuarto de hora, y luego de evidenciar su disgusto por el severo cuestionamiento de quien se ha caracterizado por confrontar a los poderosos, el entrevistado terminó el encuentro abruptamente. Esto daría pie a un tremendo acto de censura que implicó la confiscación del equipo de grabación, la detención del periodista y sus colegas, y finalmente su deportación.
Con un estilo directo y crítico, Jorge Ramos pone en contexto lo ocurrido en el Palacio de Miraflores de Caracas, cuenta el antes y el después e incluye todas las voces que lo hicieron posible. Detalla lo que tuvo que pasar para que él y sus compañeros no fueran encarcelados, y cómo (increíblemente) recuperaron y publicaron, tiempo después, la entrevista que les habían robado. Se trata de una experiencia periodística que tuvo repercusiones mundiales y que terminó por evidenciar los rasgos dictatoriales de Maduro y la falta de libertad y democracia en Venezuela.

In this book the author narrates how he was able to unmask Nicolas Maduro while on camera, along with everything that happened before and after the meeting.
On February 25th 2019, Jorge Ramos, along with his Univision team, conducted an interview with Venezuela’s dictator, Nicolas Maduro. An interview that had been meticulously prepared, after only seventeen minutes of having started, and after showing his irritation at the journalist’s severe questioning (who is always faithful to his commitment of confronting the powerful), the dictator abruptly ended the interview. A tremendous act of censorship was thus produced that involved confiscating the recording equipment, Jorge Ramos’ arrest, and finally his expulsion from Venezuela.
With his usual direct and investigative style, Ramos narrates the ins and outs of this dangerous journalistic experience that had worldwide repercussions, including what he did to avoid being imprisoned, to save his team who was traveling with him, and later recover the then-seized interview.
