Fungal diseases are a type of disease associated with a patient undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). HSCT is a therapy to replace a damaged hematopoietic system with a healthy one from a donor. Hematopoietic stem cells are those capable of regenerating all cell types of blood cells.The aim of this review is to know the hematologic transplant patient and the characteristics that predispose him/her to suffer invasive fungal infections, as well as to know the methods of prophylaxis and treatment and to describe the most commonly used antifungal drugs.
