Globalization and liberalization policies are benefiting those persons in the society who are socio-economically better off. In the wake of the current hegemonic circumstances, it is generally acknowledged that social development needs are to be directed at the marginalised section of the society. One of the most visible and complex problems and voiceless and part of weaker sections is street children. The present books outcome of empirical study conducted for the doctoral work on the life situations, life problems and life chances of these children operating in the city of Gulbarga. Il dottor Sharanabasavaraj ha conseguito un master, un master e un dottorato in lavoro sociale presso l'Università di Gulbarga, Kalaburagi. Attualmente lavora come membro di facoltà presso il Dipartimento di studi e ricerche sul lavoro sociale dell'Università femminile Akkamahadevi di Vijayapura, nello Stato del Karnataka (India). Ha pubblicato 6 articoli di ricerca.
