In the frozen heart of Apache territory, the cold doesn't kill as fast as a friend's betrayal.
In volume 3 of this acclaimed graphic novel series, Jonas Crow is a man alone again. With Rose gone, the Undertaker has returned to his solitary trade, carving out a living by burying the dead as a brutal winter descends upon the Arizona desert.
He's content to be left alone--until Sid Beauchamp, a face from a past Jonas would rather forget, arrives with a proposition that reeks of gunpowder and desperation.
The mission: venture deep into Apache territory--land outsiders have twisted into a convenient villain--to retrieve a body.
The risks are clear, but Sid knows exactly which buttons to push to recruit the only man reckless enough to take the job. However, as the blizzard whiteout swallows the trail, Jonas discovers that Sid's "simple retrieval" is a web of lethal lies.
Caught between Apache warriors enraged by Sid's lies and the treachery of his own kind, the Undertaker must find a way to survive a landscape where the snow is stained red and loyalty is the rarest commodity of all.
In This Volume:

  • A Gritty New Chapter: Jonas Crow faces his harshest setting yet--the ice-locked canyons of the Southwest.
  • The Return of Sid Beauchamp: A dive into the series' murky history, where old debts are paid in lead.
  • Survival Western at its Best: A tense, high-stakes story that pits man against nature--and greed against honor.
  • Striking Visuals: Ralph Meyer's art captures the blinding white of a blizzard and the grim reality of the Undertaker's world.

The wind is howling, and Jonas Crow is about to learn that some bodies are better left buried.
