Ulteriori informazioni

This book fills the need for a single, consolidated, go-to resource that guides anesthesiologists in all aspects of their careers.  Through the use of storytelling by senior anesthesiologists, it conveys life lessons, clinical pearls, and hard-earned experiences. The book seeks to construct a "bridge" of collective wisdom and advice between these veteran practitioners and the new generation following in their footsteps, presented in a fun and accessible format. Compiled by anesthesiologists with 20+ years of clinical and academic practice, the chapters are organized into sections that cover themes like communication and educational strategies, professionalism, leadership, career pathways and advancement, research tips, working with residents and mentoring, doctor/patient relationships, and practice management issues.  It includes stories about memorable cases and personal mentors, and topics such as substance abuse, physician burnout, dealing with medical/legal issues, avoiding complications, working in international medicine, how to find work life balance, financial issues, and many more.  The book's goal is to help the new generation navigate work/life stresses that are unique to anesthesiologists.  There is a lack of good mentors for trainees and younger faculty, and this book fills that gap.
