The Papers of Frederick Law Olmsted - The Years of Olmsted, Vaux & Co., 1865–1874

The Years of Olmsted, Vaux & Company, 1865-1874 documents one of the most productive periods of Olmsted's career. During these years he and Vaux created their classic design for Prospect Park in Brooklyn, drew up plans for Riverside and Morningside parks in Manhattan, and designed Chicago's South Park. Its rich assortment of documents will be of interest to historians, landscape architects, urban planners, and anyone concerned with the roots of modern America.

Charles E. Beveridge (ALEXANDRIA, VA) is the leading Olmsted authority in the country and the series editor of The Papers of Frederick Law Olmsted. David Schuyler is a professor of American studies at Franklin and Marshall College. He is the author of The New Urban Landscape: The Redefinition of City Form in Nineteenth-Century America and coeditor of three volumes of the The Papers of Frederick Law Olmsted. Jane Turner Censer is the coeditor of Volume's 4 and 6 of The Papers of Frederick Law Olmsted.
