Little Bear longs to be as big and as fast as his mother. In the cold Arctic snow, Mother Bear shows the little bear cub what it's like to be grown up. But after riding on Mother Bear's shoulders and snuggling up for the night, Little Bear realises that he's not quite ready to grow up yet.

David Bedford lives near Norwich in East Anglia with his wife and daughter. After completing his PhD in biology he worked in England and the USA researching antibiotics, but gave it up in 1997 to write full-time. He spends his spare time listening to music and doing t'ai chi.Jane has been writing and illustrating picture books for almost thirty years and has produced many best-selling and award-winning titles. She is mother to two sons and lives in Dorset, England with a very fluffy cat.
