This book offers extensive and quality research on and original insights into China's internal regional dynamics. Hong Yu is a research fellow at the East Asian Institute, National University of Singapore. He obtained his PhD from the University of Sheffield. His research interests lie in the field of regional economic development in China. He also has a parallel interest in the areas of industrial development and political economy of China. Dr Yu's research articles have appeared in international journals such as Journal of Contemporary China; East Asia: An International Quarterly; China: An International Journal; Asian Politics & Policy and East Asian Policy. He is the single author of the book Economic Development and Inequality in China: the Case of Guangdong (Routledge, London and New York: 2011).
