Master Collection
Yakuza 0 offers the balance of a fine Japanese whisky. It serves as a masterclass in narrative structure, where character development and action aren't just parallel—they are integrated. It’s clear that RGG has mastered the craft of storytelling, delivering a 'beat-em-up' that is as beautiful as it is brutal.
Yakuza Kiwami is a slow-burn that truly tests your patience until Chapter 10, but the payoff is worth the wait. While the mechanics can feel clunky compared to modern titles, this 'drag' effectively lets you experience the ageing and rust of a protagonist returning after ten years away. However, the story only reaches its full emotional potential if you play Yakuza 0 first—without that history, the tragedy of the present doesn't hit nearly as hard. Suggestion: set the intro music to Bleed
